A LITTLE CLARITY GOES A LONG WAY

You don’t have to have
all the answers.

Perhaps your organisation is growing faster than its systems. Your leaders are carrying too much. Or good intentions aren’t translating into the progress you want.

We start with what’s really happening. Then we work together to find a clear, practical way forward—one your people can understand, own and sustain.

HOW I CAN HELP

Better ways of working.
Built around your people.

Three connected areas.
One organisation moving forward.

01

Leadership
with direction.

Give leaders space to think, confidence to decide and the tools to bring people with them.

  • Leadership development and coaching
  • Clear roles, responsibilities and decisions
  • Constructive, honest conversations
02

Teams who
can flourish.

Help capable people feel supported, work well together and turn shared values into everyday behaviour.

  • Team development and practical learning
  • Communication and working relationships
  • Confidence, accountability and wellbeing
03

Systems that
make sense.

Make the work easier to follow and easier to manage, giving your team more time for the people who need them.

  • Operational reviews and improvement plans
  • Clear processes and useful technology
  • Meaningful measures of progress

A FOCUSED FIRST PIECE OF WORK

Clarity and
Action Review.

A focused review of what is helping your organisation move forward—and what is getting in the way.

Useful when growth has outpaced your processes, responsibilities feel muddled or your team is spending too much time working around the system.

Talk to Mark about a review

Start with a free introductory conversation. The review is paid work, with scope, format and fees agreed privately before we begin.

What the work includes

  1. Agree the question.

We choose the challenge, the people to involve and the processes to look at. The proposal sets out the boundaries and delivery format.

  2. Listen and look.

Focused conversations and a review of the agreed processes and relevant documents help build a picture of what is happening.

  3. Leave with a usable plan.

You receive a concise findings summary, a prioritised action plan and a discussion of the recommendations. We agree responsibilities and practical next steps together.

Any support to put the plan into practice is agreed separately. You can also take the plan forward with your own team.

EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE ADVICE

Practical experience.
People at the heart.

My experience spans 30 years in local government and senior operational leadership at First People Housing CIC—bringing together people, public-facing services, practical systems and change.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT & CAMPUS WEST

Making services work
for the people using them.

At Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, my career included General Manager of Campus West and Head of Communications. At Campus West, I helped revive pantomime, develop two cinema screens and soft play, and improve ticketing and websites.

Experience of bringing service development, customer experience and the everyday operational detail together.

SUPPORTED HOUSING & OPERATIONS

Helping a growing
organisation work together.

As Chief Operating Officer at First People Housing CIC, I work with colleagues on the connection between support, property operations, teams and business systems. My contribution includes clearer processes and the practical adoption of technology.

Growth is a team achievement. My focus is helping the working foundations keep pace with the ambition.

THE THINKING BEHIND THE WORK

MY APPROACH

Listen properly.
Think clearly.
Move forward.

No one knows your organisation quite like the people in it. My job is to help you see the whole picture, ask the useful questions and turn insight into action.

Work out where to start
  1. 01

    Understand what matters

Explore your ambitions, listen to your people and identify where the real friction sits.

  2. 02

    Agree a clear way forward

Choose practical priorities, define what better looks like and decide who will do what.

  3. 03

    Make the change work

Support your leaders and teams as they put the plan into practice, reviewing and adjusting together.

Clear. Honest. Open.
Direct. Kind.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before we begin.

Do you only work with supported housing?

Supported housing is a particular area of experience. The wider approach brings together leadership, people and operational systems. We can explore whether it fits your organisation’s needs.

Do I need to know exactly what help I need?

No. We can begin with what’s happening, what you’ve tried and what you want to change. Understanding the problem properly is part of the work.

How are fees agreed?

The introductory conversation is free, with no obligation. If we decide to work together, you’ll receive a private proposal with the scope, fees, any applicable VAT and payment terms agreed before work begins.

Can I pay online?

Payment arrangements will be set out in your agreed proposal or invoice. This website does not collect payment details.
